exhibit at Art Enables
We are thrilled to announce that three Arts Access artists, James Lane, Lee Papierowicz, and Philip Fisher, will be featured in Art Enables‘ upcoming exhibit Outside Forces!

The Outside Forces exhibit features work by “outsider” artists, those whose art is motivated by the artist’s own personal concepts and desires, rather than the expectations and trends of the mainstream art world. This includes artists who are emerging and self-taught, are from traditionally underrepresented communities, artists with disabilities, and those who may not have had many opportunities to exhibit in the past.

This exhibition began in 2006 as a way for DC-area groups working with self-taught artists to exhibit together. Over the last 16 years, the exhibition’s success has seen it grow to include artists from across the nation alongside DC resident artists.

The exhibit will be in-person at the Art Enables gallery, located at 2204 Rhode Island Ave NE in Washington, DC, September 3 through October 22, 2022. Additionally, there will be an opening reception on Saturday, September 10 from 4-7pm.
