We are excited to announce the 12th annual Rutgers NJMS Collaborative ARTS Exhibit, featuring work by artists from Matheny Arts Access and JSDD’s WAE Center. Both programs are dedicated to enabling individuals with disabilities to create fine art. The artistic process is an undeniable source of empowerment for people with disabilities, and the work included in this annual exhibition is a testament to the success of each of these programs.

NJMS Collaborative ARTS Exhibit 2022
12th Annual Exhibition
online and in-person, June 23 – August 31
This annual exhibition is one that is highly anticipated each year by our artists and staff. Together, Rutgers, Arts Access, and the WAE Center decided that this year’s exhibit will be a hybrid event, combining the success of the last couple year’s virtual exhibition and reception with a return of an in-person installation at Rutger’s Medical School. In this way, the exhibit can reach even more people, further spreading awareness of the talents of our artists and their abilities.
The virtual and in-person galleries for the NJMS Collaborative ARTS Exhibit will open on June 23 and will run through the end of August. Stay tuned for updates about the virtual reception, date to be announced soon!
About Rutgers NJMS
The nation’s best medical schools are known for providing the highest quality medical education, research, patient services, and community outreach. At Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, these priorities are combined with a commitment to constant innovation and progress as we keep our mission, vision, and values in mind.
About JSDD’s WAE Center
JSDD’s WAE Center is a holistic, creative and expressive arts learning center for people with disabilities, dedicated to “Finding the Spark Within”.
JSDD (Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled) is a multi-purpose agency dedicated to providing an integrated program of community education, advocacy, and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. At JSDD the expectations for quality extend beyond what services and supports may be available to what life fulfilling experiences are possible. Our philosophy supports the notion that there are no limits to those possibilities.
The WAE Center Art Studio is a place where members are invited to explore creating fine art through painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, jewelry design, and digital art. Members work both independently and with the guidance and support of trained facilitator mentors in an environment that is founded on neutrality and inclusion.
