George started as a virtual participant at Arts Access about five years ago. Since then, he has discovered an effervescent creative talent within himself. In this interview, we talk to George and his mother, Donna, about his journey as a dancer, choreographer, and his excitement for his first Full Circle performance.
How long have you been dancing?
[George] started during Covid, like 2020. [He] started with virtual with Heather. Probably five years.
What do you like most about dancing?
Being able to move around a lot.
Where do you find inspiration for your dances?
It’s usually from [his] music. [George] finds music that [he] likes, then [he] dances to the music.
How would you describe your style, as a dancer?
What’s your style? A little bit of everything, right? Yeah. A lot of things.
Do you have any favorite moves or techniques you like to use when you dance?
When [he’s] walking around.
How do you feel about your dance being performed onstage?
It’s gonna be in there on the stage, what do you think about that? It’ll be much better. Excited? Yeah.
Has your working been in Full Circle before?
Did we do this before? No, first time!
Are you looking forward to Full Circle?
Yeah!
Anything else you’d like to say?
Dance all over the stage. [He] likes to spread it out.
