Experience the arts from home

Many art organizations are turning to digital technology to stay connected to their audiences during the COVID-19 crisis. If you are looking for ways to enjoy the arts from home, check out the list below.

• Alvin Ailey Dance – watch full length videos of the Company performing on stage, as well as their list of online dance classes
• Art House Productions – join in with a variety of virtual events, including Story Slams and Drag Bingo, as well as their online gallery
• The Center for Contemporary Art – sign up for a number of newly redesigned online classes, in addition to viewing and participating in their virtual art gallery through social media
• Discover Jersey Arts – check out their new calendar with virtual events brought to you bear organizations all over the state of New Jersey
• The Growing Stage Theatre – get your kids’ daily arts enrichment with the TGS TV, a free and easy online hub to incorporate theatre and the arts into your daily schedule of distance learning at home
• Heidi Latsky Dance – join members of the Company via Instagram Live and Zoom for dance, training, and info sessions
• McCarter Theatre – subscribe for their new email series, McCarter@Home, which highlights online classes, conversations, interviews, and other opportunities to participate
• Monmouth Museum – view the Museum’s first virtual art exhibit, starting April 3, and join them for an opening reception via Zoom
• Morris Museum – engage in a multitude of ways via the Museum’s social media pages, including DIY art and STEAM projects on Facebook, videos from the collection on YouTube, and virtual art exhibits coming soon
• National Theatre – every Thursday, the Theatre makes a new play from their archives available to stream on YouTube for seven days (just a reminder, they are London-based, so be aware of the time difference)
• New Jersey Repertory Company – view their special video series, Beyond the Curtain, in which friends of NJ Rep reflect on their experiences with the theatre over the years
• The Newark Museum of Art – engage in a variety of ways with the Museum’s #NMOAatHOME virtual experiences, including weekly art competitions, art projects, and a myriad of video presentations.
• The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey – read entries in the Diary of a Theatre to learn some behind-the-scenes stories while you wait for live performances to be rescheduled
