Summer Symbiosis III

3rd annual collaborative exhibit featuring
Matheny Arts Access and JSDD’s WAE Studio

Summer Symbiosis celebrates the longstanding partnership between the Matheny Arts Access Program and the WAE Studio at JSDD – two organizations dedicated to empowering artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities through creative expression. Since 2011, the organizations have collaborated annually to showcase the work of artists across New Jersey, creating spaces for connection, visibility, and artistic exchange. What began as a shared exhibition at Rutgers’ New Jersey Medical School evolved during the pandemic into a virtual experience that deepened dialogue between artists and audiences across the globe. Today, this partnership continues to grow through Summer Symbiosis, bringing together more than fifty artists in an exhibition that honors creativity, community, and the transformative power of collaboration.
