Mike Martin
Mike is a dedicated and meticulous artist who has been a longtime participant in the Arts Access program. While he works across multiple disciplines, he has a particular affinity for digital and traditional painting, where his evolving artistic sensibilities bring subtlety and insight to every piece. Patient and exacting, Mike strives to bring each of his ideas to life exactly as he envisions them.
“I want people to think that my paintings are interesting,” Mike says. His compositions are filled with intricate details and thoughtful complexity, inviting viewers to explore and discover new elements with each glance.
An intuitive artist, Mike prefers to work in the moment rather than plan too far ahead. He carefully considers each choice, balancing shapes, lines, and colors in dynamic and engaging ways. His works are often layered with rich textures and surfaces, and he is equally comfortable working with bold, vibrant colors or soft, subtle hues across canvases of any size. Whether working in acrylic or digital media, Mike maintains a consistent and cohesive color palette, giving his body of work a clear, recognizable style.
Mike’s artwork has been shown throughout the tri-state area, including the Monmouth Museum, Grounds for Sculpture, Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in New York, and the Atrium Gallery in Morristown, NJ. Mike is also a frequent participant in Arts Access’ annual Full Circle event.
