Andy Lash
Andy is a dedicated painter who approaches every canvas with focus and intention. For him, each piece begins with a purpose, often expressed through its title, which offers viewers a way into the work. His subject matter is wide-ranging—sometimes reflecting on sports and social issues, other times delving into more personal experiences. One of his most moving works, I’m Sorry New York, was created in response to the tragedy of September 11. In it, Andy pays tribute to the resilience and spirit of the city, capturing both grief and strength in visual form. Like much of his art, it transforms emotion into something that can be shared and felt by others. Geometric shapes play an important role in Andy’s artistic language, especially the circle, a recurring motif in his paintings. For him, it represents unity, continuity, and balance. Through these forms, Andy builds compositions that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the deeper stories woven into his work.
His work has been exhibited at venues including Kathryn Markel Fine Arts gallery in New York, The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ, and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ.
