Tammy Heppner
Tammy is a versatile and imaginative artist who works across a wide range of mediums, with a particular passion for writing and painting. Often, she merges the two disciplines, creating works that are both visually compelling and deeply narrative.
Tammy’s distinctive approach begins with the title, which she often writes before she picks up a brush. These titles, sometimes long enough to stand as complete written pieces on their own, guide her choices of canvas, shapes, colors, and techniques. Many of her paintings balance between figuration and abstraction, with the title offering viewers a lens through which to understand the story she wishes to tell.
Creating from the heart, Tammy’s work reflects her love of family, friends, nature, and faith. By weaving together writing and visual art, she offers audiences a unique and intimate glimpse into her world, revealing both her imagination and her deep emotional connection to the subjects she portrays.
Tammy's visual artwork has been featured at such venues as the Morris Museum, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Her first book, My Favorite Things, enables the reader to see the world through her eyes. Her writing has also been featured in Writes of Passage – A Collection of Prose by Arts Access Writers.See More Work By Tammy Heppner »
