Head shot of artist Lloyd Decker.

Lloyd D.

Lloyd D. is an adventurous and experimental artist whose work is defined by texture, color, and a playful sense of discovery. He enjoys exploring the effects of splatter, often applying it while other areas of the canvas are still wet, allowing the paint to blend and interact in unexpected ways.

Lloyd frequently works across multiple mediums at once, combining crayons with paint or layering markers over splattered surfaces to see how the materials respond to one another. Lloyd works with a clear vision for each piece, but he always leaves room for a little adventure. Each painting reflects his playful curiosity and results in work that feels lively, dynamic, and unmistakably his own.

Lloyd’s work has been exhibited at group shows at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (Summit, NJ) , the Farmstead Arts Center (Basking Ridge, NJ), The Arts Council of Princeton (Princeton, NJ), The Heidi Gallery (Livingston, NJ), the Monmouth Museum (Lincroft, NJ), Studio Montclair (Montclair, NJ), the Atrium Gallery (Morristown, NJ), and Sotheby’s (NYC).
