A Celebration of Writing!
Arts Access writers participate in the Montclair Literary Festival.
The writers at Matheny Medical & Educational Center’s Arts Access Program will showcase their writing in the 2018 Montclair Literary Festival. The hour-long presentation, which takes place March 17, includes a reading of their poems and stories, as well as a brief discussion. Titled “Writing without Boundaries: Self–Expression Through the Written Word“, the event will be held in the Young Adult Room in the Montclair Public Library (50 S. Fullerton Avenue, Montclair) between 11am-12pm.
The featured Arts Access writers include Tammy Heppner, Jessica Evans, Cindy Shanks, Anthony Lafond, Natalia Manning, Cheryl Chapin, and Jenny Durr.
Organized by the non-profit organization Succeed2gether, the festival began in 2017 with the intention of engaging local communities in the celebration of books and reading. From March 15-18, attendees can listen to panels, book talks, and participate in workshops or children’s activities. The events will take place in several venues throughout Montclair. More than 100 authors and speakers will participate. Most of the events are free. For information on ticketed author events, visit www.succeed2gether.org. Succeed2gether works to close the education achievement gap in Essex County with education programs and after-school tutoring. The literary festival supports their efforts.
