“To be honest, I don’t remember much about this painting. But I can tell you that most likely, with the dark background and the light colors in the foreground, that I was trying to cover up a dark time in my life. It’s just an educated guess. But, as far as who I’m influenced by…you know what? I am me and there’s nobody like me.” Chris Saglimbene

Chris Saglimbene

Chris began participating in the Arts Access Program more than ten years ago. His paintings are influenced by sports and pop culture. When he’s creating a piece of art, he likes to use the splatter medium. “I like it because it’s like life,” he says. “You don’t dictate where the paint goes. It goes where it wants.” Chris is also a choreographer, writer, and performer. His pieces have been presented in several exhibits as well as Arts Access’ Full Circle show and book of writings titled Writes of Passage.
